Breast Augmentation Surgery with cohesive gel implant

Understanding Breast Implants

Breast implants have continually evolved to meet the differing needs of individuals seeking naturally looking, flattering breasts. This evolution focuses on providing safe, durable implants and offering choices that match the desires and needs of recipients.

Factors for Successful Breast Augmentation

A successful breast augmentation surgery relies on several factors, including the proper selection of the breast implant type and size suitable for the individual’s existing breast tissue and chest frame. All breast implants utilize a silicone shell, but the fillings differ, being either gel-filled or saline-filled.

Types of Breast Implants

The outer silicone shell, which gives the prosthesis its elasticity and integrity, may have a smooth (shiny polished) or textured (finely rough) surface. Breasts augmented with textured implants, providing a disruptive surface for collagen interface, have a lower tendency to develop contracting capsules than those with smooth implants.

Durability and Cohesive Gel Implants

Breast implants may not last a lifetime, and the rupture rate in saline-filled implants is higher than in gel-filled ones. The gel-filled implants I recommend contain high cohesive gel, which is more cross-linked than standard silicone gel, providing higher resistance to flow. If the implant shell ruptures, the inside gel rarely escapes (does not leak).

Preferred Implant Shape and Profile

The shape of the implants I prefer to use is round, with a low to moderate profile (projection), providing natural upper fullness and nice cleavage for your new breasts.
