Augmentation rhinoplasty with silicone implant
Nose augmentation (technically called rhinoplasty) by carving the silicone implant is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for Asian people. The goal is to improve the nose aesthetically, by harmonizing it with other facial features. After the rhinoplasty, you will have a beautiful profile, without conspicuous sign of surgery.
Preoperative assessment
Your bone stucture and soft tissue of the nose are carefully evaulated.
Skin type, ethnic background, and age are important factors to be considered prior to surgery.
A young patient must reach full growth, usually fifteen or sixteen years of age.
Surgical technique
The surgery is done as an outpatient in Dr.Chettawut's office.
Local anesthesia is given in some area of the nose. An oral or intravenous sedation will also be given so that you will be asleep and relaxed.
The incision is inside the nose and could not be seen from outside.
Dissection along the nose is done to create the appropriate space for silicone implant.
Soft medical-grade silicone implant is carved intraoperatively and inserted through an incision inside the nose, to increase the height of the nose and refine nasal tip projection.
Stitches are self-dissolving.
A small external splint may be positioned on your nose as a protection of keeping the implant stable for three days.
The surgery lasts in an hour.
