Forehead and brow lift surgery
A forehead lift and brow lift has been widely recognized as one of the most effective facial feminizing procedure to obtain a more feminine appearance of upper face. The forehead/brow lift in conjuntion with forehead bone contouring and scalp advancement are among the most common combination for my facial feminization work.
Surgical procedure
Hair is not shaved. In preparation for the surgery, the hair is tied back with rubber bands in front of and behind the incision area.
A coronal incision made at the hairline from the ears across the top of the forehead is normally used to avoid adding even more height to the forehead.
The incision is made with a surgical blade, beveling appropriately so as to avoid as many hair follicles as possible.
The scalp is elevated in a plane superficial to the periosteum anteriorly and the subperiosteal plane is entered at the level of hairline down to the level of supra orbital ridge.
The supra trochlear and supraorbital nerves and vessels is identified and well protected during the dissection of periosteum over the orbital rims.
The forehead skin flap is lifted and pulled in an upward and backward direction to adjust your brow to a more pleasing level.
The overlapping skin is set at key points based on the determined elevation, and the excess skin is removed subsequently.
After completion of the contouring procedures, the wound is closed by repositioning of the soft tissue layer by layer and skin is joined meticulously with fine suture (no stapples or clips used). At the end of the operation, your hair will be washed with antiseptic shampoo and dry. The total time of the procedure lasts 1.5-2 hours
