Dr.Chettawut's answers for your questions regarding sex reassignment surgery
1. Upper lip reduction (Lip lifting) vs. Lip enhancement with gore-tex implantation
Question: I would like to get more fuller of my top lip, which one is the procedure for me?
Answer: If you scar well and have a long upper lip (distance between base of nose and top lip), the upper lip reduction should be considerred to decrease the lip to nose ratio and lift the upper lip to show more vermilion (roll out the top lip to make it fuller). In contrary, if you do not scar well or have short to normal upper lip, I recommend to choose the lip enhancement with Gore-tex.
2. Chin implant done together with feminizing chin contouring surgery
Question: I plan to have feminizing chin contouring to obtain more pointed, narrow shape, do I need chin implant as well?
Answer: If your chin is short or recessed, I recommend chin implant in conjuction with chin contouring surgery to obtain the desired contour.
3. Face and neck lift after jaw contouring surgery
Question: Do I need the face and neck lift to tighten the skin along my new jaw line?
Answer: If you have loose skin or redundant skin under the jaw line before jaw contouring surgery, the face and neck lift with SMAS (platysmal muscle tightening) should also be employed to sharpen the jaw and neck definition. The face/neck lift can be done right after jaw contouring in one setting or later but never before jaw surgery.
