1. Scheduling surgery
Question: Is three weeks enough time off, to have surgery and recuperation?
Answer: For SRS and/or FFS, the total stay in Thailand around 3 weeks is enough. For having brast augmentation surgery or tummy tuck surgery, your stay should be 10-14 days.
2. Weight limitation
Question: Please advise the maximum weight is acceptable to have major surgery with you?
Answer: For those whose height is equal 6' (180 cm) or less
If age is under 45, the acceptable weight will be not more than 105 kg (230 Pound)
If age is between 45-60, the acceptable weight will be not more than 95 kg.(210 Pound)
For those whose height is more than 6' (180 cm)
If age is under 45, the acceptable weight will be not more than 110 kg (240 Pound)
If age is between 45-60, the acceptable weight will be not more than 100 kg.(220 Pound)

3. Underlying diabetes
Question: I am a type 2 diabetic which is treated with Glucophage. Would this cause a problem?
Answer: If you have normal blood surgar level with good level of HbA1C, you can have your surgery safely.
If your preoperative blood sugar is not in normal limit, you may need to consult endocrinologist at Piyavate hospital to treat your diabetic condition during your hospitalization (there is an extra charge).
4. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
Question: What is deep vein thrombosis and what is your procedures to mimimize the risk?
Answer: Deep vein thrombosis (throm-BO-sis) is a blood clot that forms in a vein deep in the body. Most deep vein clots occur in the lower leg or thigh.
If a clot in a vein breaks off and travels through your bloodstream, it can lodge in your lung. This is called pulmonary embolism (PUL-mo-ner-e EM-bo-lizm), which is a very serious condition.
The procedures for deep vein thrombosis prophylactics are as follow:
1. Before surgery:
-All patients must stop taking estrogen and/or anti-androgen 2 weeks prior their surgery.
-Low molecular weight heparin is required for prophylactic if you have a history of DVT, the administration will be taken care of by hematologists or internists at Piyavate hospital (there is an extra charge).
2. During surgery:
-Exercising your lower leg muscles at intervals during surgery.
3. After surgery:
-Getting out of bed and moving around as soon as possible, for example SRS patients will be allowed to get out of bed after vaginal packing removal on the fourth day after surgery.
